What makes it deep

The difference is dwell time, not effort

People assume a deep clean is a regular clean done harder. It is not. It is a different set of tasks, and most of them are about chemistry and patience rather than scrubbing. Oven carbon, shower scale, grout discolouration and range-hood grease all need a product left on the surface long enough to work. Attack them with a cloth and pressure and you get a tired arm and a surface that still looks grey.

So a deep clean is planned around dwell time. The oven and the shower get treated first and left while the rest of the house is done, then come back to. That is why a deep clean takes roughly twice as long as a maintenance clean of the same house, and why trying to do it in a maintenance-clean slot produces a disappointing result.

The task list is also longer at the edges: inside the oven and the fridge including seals and drip trays, range hood filters, baseboards and door frames, light switches and handles, window tracks, inside cabinets, and the tops of doors and trim that never get touched. Most of these are invisible individually and unmistakable together.

Surrey specifics

The homes here are usually bigger than the bedroom count implies

Newton, Fleetwood, Bear Creek and Fraser Heights hold a lot of large detached homes, and many have a suite. That matters for a deep clean in a way it does not elsewhere: a suited house often has two full kitchens and two or three bathrooms, which are the two slowest rooms in the job. When you price a deep clean here, count every kitchen and every bathroom honestly rather than the ones you use, or the quote will not match the work.

South Surrey, Rosemary Heights and Cloverdale run to newer, larger builds with more square footage of hard floor and more glass. Glass and open stair railings are the visible difference on a deep clean in these homes, and high ceilings put light fixtures and the tops of cabinets genuinely out of reach for most owners, which is usually where the dust everyone can see is sitting.

Whalley, Guildford and City Centre are increasingly tower units. Smaller floor area, but deep cleans here concentrate on the two things apartments do badly: bathroom extractor fans that cannot keep up, leaving film on ceilings and upper walls, and slider tracks and balcony doors that collect grit from a high, windy exposure.

Multi-generational households are common across Surrey, and a house that runs three meals a day for six or eight people accumulates kitchen grease far faster than the same house with two occupants. If the range hood has not been degreased in a year or more, say so at booking so we can allow for it.

FAQ

Deep cleaning questions

How is this different from your standard clean?

A standard clean maintains a home that is already in reasonable order. A deep clean resets one that is not, or one that has never had the inside of the oven, the fridge seals, the baseboards, the window tracks and the cabinet interiors done. It takes about twice as long, and most of the extra time is product dwell time on carbon, scale and grease.

Should I get a deep clean before starting recurring visits?

Usually, yes, and it is the most common way our customers start. The deep clean gets the house to a baseline; the recurring visits then hold it there, which is a much cheaper job. Booking bi-weekly after a first deep clean is the pattern most people settle into.

Do I need to count my basement suite kitchen?

Yes. Kitchens and bathrooms drive the time on a deep clean far more than bedrooms do. If your home has a second kitchen in a suite, include the bathrooms that go with it in the calculator so the price reflects the real job.

Can you get the top of the cabinets and high fixtures?

Within safe reach from a standard step ladder, yes, and in most homes that covers cabinet tops, fan blades and light fixtures. We do not work from tall ladders or over stairwells. If you have a double-height entry or a fixture over a staircase, tell us at booking and we will be honest about what we can reach.

How long does it take?

Roughly double a maintenance clean of the same home, which for most Surrey houses means the better part of a day. The calculator prices the job rather than the hour, so the number you see is the number you pay whether it runs long or short.
